Sidetracked

I was going to scout good espresso in New Orleans. Remember?

Then the idea: maybe I need to get a little experience with pulling my own shots. Different beans, different technique. Good shots, bad shots. Get some of that under my belt and become more competent to judge others.

It’s one Rancilio Silvia espresso machine later and I have to say that I am getting my experience for sure. I have had some bad shots and a few very good ones. The process of arriving at the good ones is still mostly luck. But, I am ready to resume the quest.

Please come check our espresso out at La Divina Gelateria 3005 Magazine Street. We’ve worked very hard to make an authentic, ristretto espresso. Our custom blend is roasted for us fresh by Coffee Roasters of New Orleans. We use a swift grinder to achieve a perfect tamp every time. The shots are pulled on a La Marzocco machine.
